SGMW Becomes First Chinese Carmaker to Reach 30 Million Vehicles Produced

On January 5, SGMW celebrated a major milestone as its 30 millionth vehicle, the Wuling Starlight S, rolled off the production line, making it the first Chinese automaker to reach this historic production and sales figure.

SGMW’s journey to this achievement reflects steady growth: its 10 millionth vehicle was produced in 2013, the 20 millionth in 2019, and now the 30 millionth in 2025.

A major driver of this growth has been SGMW’s focus on new energy vehicles (NEVs). In 2024 alone, the company launched 10 NEV models, sold 1.54 million vehicles, and saw NEV sales exceed 800,000 units, accounting for over 50% of total sales, a 63% year-on-year increase.

By the end of 2024, SGMW’s cumulative NEV sales surpassed 2.4 million units, underscoring its leadership in China’s green mobility transition.
